Outstanding Educator Awards - Kevin Giron & Kevin Ginter!
Congratulations to Kevin Giron and Kevin Ginter, who were both honored with the Outstanding Educator Award at a special ceremony hosted by the University of Vermont. This annual event, organized by the Vermont Department of Education in collaboration with area schools, recognizes the region’s most dedicated and inspiring educators. We are incredibly proud to have both of them as part of our Rice faculty—their commitment to academic excellence and to their students truly exemplifies what this award represents. Our educators play a critical role in students' lives. It is a joy to celebrate those like Mr. Ginter and Mr. Giron who continuously improve their skills, adjust their curriculum, and who bring out the best in our students.
Kevin Giron
Kevin Giron has been at Rice since 2017 and teaches AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Calculus, and Statistics and is known for his professionalism, kindness, and the deep respect he inspires in his students. As Department Chair, Kevin’s leadership has helped the math program thrive. Above all, he has a gift for turning challenging math concepts into lessons that students truly understand. Kevin has also elevated his entire math department during his time as department chair, helping to streamline and align curricula to provide our students with the best possible experiences, while enhancing the pedagogical practices across classrooms.
“Rice has been a place where I can share my passion for mathematics with both students and colleagues. Watching students overcome challenges and gain confidence is the most rewarding part of my day, and I feel fortunate to experience that here at Rice.” – Kevin Giron
Kevin Ginter
Beloved music teacher Kevin Ginter has grown our chorus from 10 students to 46 students, tripled our music course options, and has created an environment for the Arts to flourish. Kevin trained at the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College and traveled the world working as a professional opera singer. He helps produce 2 drama productions each school year, coaches our Drumline, and plans events so students have the opportunity to find their own voice. Kevin is now planning a special trip for our choir to Japan and is helping to grow the Arts department through expanded course offerings, and coaching department members with his vast experience and expertise.
“I feel fortunate to teach at Rice, the students are so receptive and eager to learn. I’m happy to be a part of helping grow our Music and Arts programs especially when many schools are cutting them.” – Kevin Ginter
