Student Life Fund

This special fund has over $70,000 available annually to support student life, academics, and experiential learning at Rice! It’s available to both students and teachers with a simple grant application. 

Examples of what the Student Life Fund covers:

• Local field trips
• Choral activities
• New band instruments
• Microscopes or science equipment
• A kiln or art supplies
• Library book refresh each year
• Video equipment / sound boards
• Funds for an on-site school spirit event
• Funds for dances
• Fees for on-site speakers for students
• Buses for class events

• Field Trips to Montreal, Forest Lake, and SpareTime
• School-wide Pumpkin Carving Contest

• Biology Student Field Trip to the Fish Hatchery in Grand Isle
• Campus Ministry Winter Weekend Retreat
• Music Department field trip to Washington DC to work with world-class musicians at Catholic University of America

Teacher and students at Rice are welcome to apply for a grant from the Student Life Fund! Grant decisions are made by the Student Life Fund Committee, which is made up of Rice students and administrators. Please describe your project or ask in as much detail as possible, explain what you are trying to accomplish, and include the amount of money you need. Be creative! All applicants will receive a response.
