Rice Welcomes New Principal

We’re excited to welcome Andrew Nagy as Rice’s new principal. He comes to Rice with 10 years of experience in school leadership and 22 years of experience in schools overall. He has excellent interpersonal skills and a deep commitment to our school mission and values. 
 
Andrew is coming to us from the Newman School – a rigorous independent school in downtown Boston. There he has shown himself to be excellent at working with faculty and staff, expanding academic curriculum, leading the school through program evaluations, and connecting with students through sports. He is eager to continue the vision that Andrew Keough began at Rice and will be starting on July 1. He is going to actively collaborate with Dr. Keough so there is a smooth transition for students and staff. He and his family will be moving up to Vermont this summer with kids starting in our Catholic schools in the Fall. We hope to have another opportunity for you to meet him in the near future.
 
Below is a personal note from Andrew to the Rice Community:
“I'm very excited to join the team at Rice! It's been a lifelong dream to be in Vermont full time after spending weekends at my ski house in the Mad River Valley since I was young. I'm honored to be part of such a remarkable school and was thoroughly impressed with the warm community feel of Rice from the very beginning. One aspect that stood out to me during the interview process is the dedication of the faculty and staff. I've worked in a lot of schools and you don't always find such an authentic student centered approach. I look forward to getting to know all of you better and being part of this community. I hope you have a wonderful Spring Break and I wish you all the best as you enter into May, one of the busiest times of the school year!”
 
Additionally, we have excellent continued leadership in Associate Principal Dan Routhier. He has proven to be wise, fair, and extremely reliable. We are grateful to have his continued presence at Rice for years to come. We look forward to a bright future at Rice with great opportunities for our returning students.
