I enjoy teaching Health because: Health is something that is relevant to everyone. Helping to educate students on how to make healthy lifestyle decisions is very rewarding.

I choose to teach at Rice because: Rice gives me the opportunity to combine all of my passions into a career, athletics, health care, education and administration.

What is your favorite thing about your job? I enjoy working with the students and watching them grow from the time they walk in the door through the time they graduate.

If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time? I would go play a round of golf.

Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on: I enjoy going to Nashville. I am a big country music fan and it is great to see the talent that is out there that has yet to be discovered.

Favorite Rice tradition or event: Faculty and Staff dodgeball at pep rallies.

Favorite Rice Sports Team to watch: I enjoy watching all of the teams. No one watches more Rice games than me!

Favorite Professional Sports Team or Athlete: Boston Bruins

If a prospective family asked you “why should I send my student to Rice,” what would you say? Rice provides an education that isn’t possible to provide in many educational settings in today’s day and age. The size of the school allows you to really get to know the students as a faculty or staff member, but also allows the students to build that relationship with the teachers. Students are challenged and there is a level of accountability at Rice that is slowly making its way out of many other school settings. Students don’t fall through the cracks here.
