I choose to work at Rice because: After a rewarding career in public education, I am embracing this new opportunity at Rice Memorial High School to continue serving students while taking on fresh challenges and contributing to a close-knit learning community. What is your favorite thing about your job? My favorite part of this opportunity is being able to continue working closely with students while focusing on student support, helping them discover their strengths and prepare for meaningful futures.
If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time? In my free time, I enjoy gardening, long walks, and paddleboarding. Being outdoors helps me relax, recharge, and return to work refreshed and ready to support students.
Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on: It's hard to choose just one. One of my favorite vacations was traveling to Tuscany with my book group and sharing a villa together. We spent our days exploring the countryside, enjoying the local culture and food, and having wonderful conversations. It was a unique combination of travel, friendship, and learning.
Another favorite was a recent family trip to Oahu, where we explored the beauty of Hawaii together. From the stunning beaches and scenery to the opportunity to spend quality time with family, it was a memorable and meaningful experience.
Both trips were special for different reasons—one for the friendships and cultural experience, and the other for the family memories we created together.
