Orientation

We know starting high school is a big deal. With this in mind, we thoughtfully plan a fun and productive orientation that prepares students for success as the school year starts. At orientation, students will meet and get to know some of our current students, meet Rice faculty and staff, walk through their class schedules, and find their lockers. 

All 9th Grade, Transfer, and International Students are invited to Orientation on Monday, August 31 from 9am-12:00pm at Rice.
 
Key Details:

• Students can wear casual clothes instead of uniforms, clothing should reflect the spirit of the Rice dress code with no hats, ripped clothing, or exposed midriffs.
• Cell phones should stay in backpacks during orientation.
• Student schedules will be released on 8/24 and will be visible via the MyRice portal. Before orientation, please be sure students have activated their Rice email address and can access the MyRice Portal. If a student needs help, contact [email protected]
• We'll have printed copies of schedules for each student. 
• Students do not need to bring laptops or school supplies this day.
• Orientation is for students only, parents will have the opportunity to meet our teachers at Back to School Night
• Lunch will be provided
• Pickup between 11:45-12
