On Monday, March 25th, students Wilfred St. Francis and Maddie Rugg will be presenting a Mental Health Awareness Day to the Rice community. The two seniors are extremely passionate about mental health and are excited to be able to share their passion and insight with the rest of the community. They have planned activities and workshops focusing on various aspects of mental health, featuring Rice faculty to teach students about stress relief, the science behind mental health, two student panels, and much more. Along with the gracious faculty members, there will be two volunteers from First Call Vermont to inform students about responding to a crisis situation. Starting a conversation about mental health allows people to feel more comfortable reaching out for themselves or others, and helps jumpstart the de-stigmatization of mental health, creating a safer and healthier community.
Note for parents/guardians: There will be a final student panel available in the evening of the same day to any loved ones or community members at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. We hope to see you there!
