If you would like to change or add/drop a class, you may do so during our add/drop period, starting 9/3 and ending on 9/11. For a variety of reasons, we do not make course changes before the add/drop period.
All students who would like to change or add/drop a course must submit a completed Add/Drop form to Lois Cefarello in the Guidance office. Once collected, Guidance will review the request and alert the student if the request can be accommodated. We do our absolute best to honor every request as soon as possible, but may be delayed when there is a wait list for the class or spots are being held for upperclassmen who may need a certain class to graduate. There are also circumstances where a course change is not possible, typically due to class size or other course conflicts.
Don’t know who your School Counselor is? No problem! View this sheet
Students typically stay with the same counselor for all four years. You can also check your counselor assignment in the MyRice portal under “Advisor.” If you think the counselor listed in MyRice is incorrect, please contact Lois Cefarello.
Please Note: If you are a rising 10th or 11th grader who was previously assigned to Ms. Rabbin, you will have a new counselor assignment this year. Ms. Rabbin is moving into a new role and will no longer have a caseload of local students.
For rising seniors currently on Ms. Rabbin’s caseload, she will continue to work with you through your senior year to ensure a smooth transition through the college application process.
