Background:

Master's Degree from Florida State University, Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Rutgers University.
She started teaching at Rice in 2021. Previously, she taught at Essex High School and Randolph Union High School for 12 years.

Get to Know Her:

I am certified to teach Social Studies, English AND Science in Vermont. I love teaching and the subject doesn’t matter. What matters to me is the students! I tell them this all the time. Teaching my subject is the same year to year, what makes this job fun for me is the people in front of me.

I choose to teach at Rice because: Rice is small enough to focus on each individual student. When I was hired, I was told it is like a family here, and I have found that to be true! I love it here.

What is your favorite thing about your job?  Hands down, laughing with the kids.  

If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time?
Hike around Indian Brook Reservoir with my lab, Juno

Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on:
Canoeing for ten days down the Green River in Utah

About Us Slides and presentations, Aquatic Invertebrate Field Study, dissecting things

Favorite Rice tradition or event:  Stunt Night!

Favorite Rice Sports Team to watch:  Hockey

If a prospective family asked you “why should I send my student to Rice?” What would you say? 
Because Rice is focused on academic excellence. The focus of this school is preparing your student for college…and I think we do an excellent job at that.

Anything else you’d like to say?  I have three daughters and I regret that my first two daughters weren’t able to go to Rice.  I love it here and I’m excited about my third daughter being able to attend next year!
