Ms. Allard works in the Admissions Office and supports our International Students. She coordinates many details like travel, visas, host families, and communicating with parents. She has a warm personality and is a crucial part of our team.
I choose to work at Rice because: This isn't a job, this is following a passion. Having grown up overseas and attending an international high school in London, I wanted to use my experience in helping other high school students achieve their goals of studying in the United States.
What is your favorite thing about your job? Talking to people from all over the world, from Africa to Europe to Asia and bringing people from all different backgrounds together. Promoting a global community.
If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time? I would hike, bike, ski, skinning up Mt. Mansfield with Coach Becky, play tennis with Ms. Shrestha, somehow enjoy the outdoors in Vermont.
Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on: Fiji: black sand, warm water, great food and an entirely different culture. What else can you ask for?
Favorite tradition/fieldtrip/project you do each school year: Bringing the International students together, getting to know them, and celebrating their successes.
Favorite Rice tradition or event: Stunt Nite!
Favorite Professional Sports Team or Athlete: Chris Everett Lloyd
If a prospective family asked you “why should I send my student to Rice”? What would you say?
Our amazing location: the mountains! the lake! and the close proximity to everything! And of course, the warm, embracing Rice community that will take in students from all over the world and make them feel loved and at home.
