Ms. Schmitt is a newer science teacher who will be mentored by our beloved Sharon Boardman. She has a strong academic foundation, excellent communication skills, loves a challenge, and has a firm belief in student-centered teaching. Her interests include neuroscience, philosophy and ultimate frisbee. She comes highly recommended by teaching faculty as a standout leader, we’re excited to have her with us!

I enjoy teaching science because: I find the natural world fascinating and amazing! From molecular structures to ecosystem interactions, I love sharing the excitement of understanding the world better with students.

I choose to teach at Rice because: community, kindness, and service are central to the school’s mission and part of the curriculum.
