• BA, Summa Cum Laude in Philosophy from Providence College
• Working on Masters in Moral Theology from Mount St. Mary’s University
• Mr. Bombardier was a seminarian with the Diocese of Burlington for 6.5 years, during which he helped out extensively with Totus Tuus, Parish catechesis, and 2 years of Catholic School education. 
• Started at Rice in 2026

Get to Know Him:

I enjoy teaching religion because: I enjoy teaching religion because scripture is at the center of our world, whether we realize it or not. God has spoken through the ages, ceaselessly calling us to Himself, and in teaching religion, I get to pull back the veil and reveal the manifold ways that God is making Himself present to us in history, in the scriptures, and in our own days!

I choose to teach at Rice because: I love Vermont and its people. After my time in seminary, I know many current and former Rice students, and Rice changed their lives for the better. I am a native Vermonter and I want to invest in the future of this great state!

What is your favorite thing about your job?  My favorite part about my job is being able to interact and form relationships with so many people. Through teaching, I am privileged to meet so many students, parents, and faculty members, each of which I get to know and share humanity with!

If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time?
In the summer I would go and play Disc Golf at Smugglers Notch, in the winter I would go skiing at Smugglers Notch!

Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on:
 In graduate school, a few friends and I drove to Lynchburg, VA to play a disc golf course called New London Tech a few weeks before the course was shut down to accommodate new houses. It is awesome to know that I played a piece of disc golf history before it was changed to its current state: the “new” New London.

Favorite tradition/field trip/project you do in your classroom each school year:
Starting out as a new teacher here at Rice, I am looking forward to starting new traditions to help show the extensive Catholic history of the Northeast. It would be awesome to visit St. Joseph's Oratory in Montreal, or the North American Martyrs Shrine in New York. Most people don’t know how deep our history is!

Favorite Rice tradition or event:  Stunt Night!

Favorite Rice Sports Team to watch:  Baseball!

Favorite Professional Sports Team or Athlete:
My favorite team is the Yankees, and my favorite athlete is a Disc Golfer named Calvin Heimburg.

If a prospective family asked you “why should I send my student to Rice?” What would you say? 
Because Rice is focused on academic excellence. The focus of this school is preparing your student for college…and I think we do an excellent job at that.

Anything else you’d like to say?  I am an avid Disc Golfer and I played Baseball for the Norwich University Cadets before transferring to Providence College. I am looking forward to starting a disc golf club or helping out with Baseball!
