I enjoy teaching French it was the most beautiful language I had ever heard. France has such a rich culture and history and I love being able to share that in some small way. I enjoy teaching social sciences because it allows me to learn more about the world around me and share it with my students.
I choose to teach at Rice because the community is so strong and welcoming
What is your favorite thing about your job? The chance to start fresh every year and watch my students change and grow.
If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time? Explore lovely Vermont!
Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on: I am an avid traveler and it is so difficult to choose one! Peru and Machu Picchu had the most profound impact on me.
Favorite tradition/fieldtrip/project you do in your classroom each school year: I love taking my French students to places where they can experience the language and culture of France. I’m excited to be so close to places in French Speaking Canada!!
Favorite Rice tradition or event: TBD!
Favorite Rice Sports Team to watch: I’m excited to watch winter sports!
Favorite Professional Sports Team or Athlete: Not professional, but I love a Good FSU Seminole football game!
Anything else you'd like to say? I am a newlywed and was married last October in Gloucester, MA at Hammond Castle. My husband and I love history and this was the perfect place for us to start our lives together. I also have a 3 year old shih tzu and 2 adult sons on my side, and 2 adult daughters on his, and we have a 5 year old grandson and a 1 week old granddaughter!
If a prospective family asked you “why should I send my student to Rice,” what would you say? The community aspect. In addition the staff I have met seem well versed and are experts in their subject areas
