Allen comes to Rice with lots of experience in financial forecasting and budgeting, having worked for General Dynamics, the FBI and the NSA. Allen is thrilled to be a part of the Rice community and to use his financial acumen to support our students and the school.

What are you passionate about? As a Deaf individual, I’m deeply passionate about uplifting the Vermont Deaf community. I love bringing people together through social events that foster connection, celebrate our culture, and raise funds to support accessibility for those who need it most. It’s about creating a space where everyone feels seen, included, and empowered.

I choose to work at Rice because: I had heard great things about Rice’s reputation in all areas—including academics, athletics, the staff, and its overall positive work environment. I wanted to become a part of that.

If you had an unexpected afternoon off, what would you do with your time? Go mountain biking or fishing. Skiing during the winter.

Best vacation/trip you’ve ever been on: A two-week camper van trip through Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in 2023. The views were breathtaking.

Favorite Professional Sports Team or Athlete: Randy Moss - I grew up playing sports with him and we attended the same high school together
